A collision between two semis Wednesday morning has claimed the life of a 58-year-old man from Regina.
In an update Thursday, the RCMP said officers from the Saskatoon detachment got a call at around 6:30 a.m., about a two-vehicle crash a few kilometres north of Bladworth on Highway 11.
The collision resulted in the closure of the highway’s northbound lanes, and southbound traffic was down to one lane.
The Mounties said the driver of one of the semis was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The driver and passenger in the other semi were taken to hospital with injuries the RCMP described as non-life-threatening.
Officers are investigating the crash with the help of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
It was the second fatal crash on Highway 11 in a span of five days. On Friday, a 32-year-old woman from Regina died in a rollover near Hanley.
