8:30 – Spring is just around the corner! As the warm up begins we check in with David Phillips, Senior Climatologist with Environment Canada, for a sneak peek at his spring forecast.
9:00 – If you get busted carrying around bear spray in public, it’s going to cost you. The provincial government has created regulations to restrict the possession of bear spray in public urban spaces and prohibit altering bear spray in order to hide or disguise it. Anyone charged under the new regulations could face fines of up to $100,000. Justice Minister and Attorney General Bronwyn Eyre joins Evan.
9:30 – Snow covered sidewalks seem like an inconvenience to many of us, but they pose serious safety risks for people living with visual impairments. The Canadian National Institute for the Blind says snow removal is an accessibility issue, a mobility issue, and a human rights issue. Christall Beaudry, the CNIB’s Vice President of Western Canada, joins Evan.
10:00 – Workplace safety is exceptionally important, especially in situations that have complex and potentially dangerous equipment and jobs – like on a farm or other agricultural operation. Robin Anderson with the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association joins Evan to discuss Canadian Agricultural Safety week and the importance of staying safe in these operations.
