Regina’s bomb squad was called out Friday morning after police got a call about a suspicious package at the Golden Mile Shopping Centre.
Police subsequently determined the call was a hoax.

A media release from police said the call came in at around 9:40 a.m.
“The caller stated the package had a note on it threatening harm if it were to be touched,” the release said. “When officers arrived, they located the package and the Explosives Disposal Unit was called in to assist.
“Using their specialized training, the team assessed the package, determined it was a hoax and then disposed of it.”
