A 32-year-old woman from The Key First Nation has been charged with murder in connection with a man’s death in October of 2022.
Natashia Marie Keshane was arrested Friday and charged with one count of first-degree murder. She made her first appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court on Monday.
Keshane was charged in the shooting death of 51-year-old Cory Papequash of The Key First Nation.
On Oct. 23, 2022, Mounties from the Kamsack detachment responded to a call about a gun being fired in a house on the First Nation that’s located about 15 kilometres south of Norquay.
Inside the house, officers found a man who subsequently was pronounced dead by paramedics.
The Kamsack RCMP, Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Services, RCMP Historical Crimes Unit and Regina Provincial RCMP General Investigation Section all were involved the initial investigation.
