The City of Regina’s street sweepers are moving into residential areas this week.
The sweep will clean more than 1,000 kilometres of residential roads over six weeks, depending on weather. Work will begin at 4 a.m. and run until 10 p.m.
“Watch for bright orange signs located at main entrances of neighbourhoods telling when crews will be sweeping the area,” the city explained in a statement.
“When crews are in your area, please move vehicles off the street to allow crews to clear the whole roadway. If possible, be neighbourly by offering to share your driveway on sweep day.”
Street sweepers can blow up quite a bit of dust, the city noted, reducing visibility.
“Residents should close windows and walk on alternative sidewalks,” the city noted.
“If you see dust and sweeping equipment, leave lots of room for the machinery, slow down and be safe.”
