A local First Nation’s business is getting some major upgrades.
On Wednesday, Standing Buffalo First Nation announced a $4.5-million expansion project for Buffalo Crossing Convenience & Gas Bar, in partnership with Centex Petroleum.
The Gas Bar is located 78 kilometres northeast of Regina, close to Fort Qu’Appelle and just outside of Echo Valley Provincial Park.
The expansion will create a larger facility, featuring a new building, upgraded signage and a Chester’s Chicken outlet.
The First Nation said the new project will help with “diverse and sustainable” economic development in the community.
“As we embark on the expansion of the Buffalo Crossing Convenience and Gas Bar, these geographic and cultural strengths are integral to our vision for growth and community engagement,” the First Nation said in a news release.
Construction will begin immediately, and the work is expected to be completed between Sept. 30 and Oct. 15.
