Regina police say a man wanted on different warrants and offences including gun violence was the reason for the police operation on the 1200 block of Garnet Street on Tuesday.
In a news release, Regina Police Service said the 39-year-old man went into a house after he allegedly didn’t follow their commands.
After attempts to speak to the man was unsuccessful, police said a search warrant was executed by the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team.
Police arrested the man and charged him with breaching his warrants and possession of ammunition.
The man made his first appearance at Regina Provincial Court on these charges Wednesday afternoon.
