Two 14-year-old girls are facing robbery charges after a woman was allegedly beaten with a baton.
According to police, officers were called to the 2100 block of Victoria Avenue just after 8 p.m. on Wednesday for a reported assault in progress.
“Initial Information indicated a group of youth were assaulting a female victim with a baton and the youths had left the scene,” the Regina Police Service explained in a statement.

“Upon arrival, police located the victim who was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
Police quickly found a bag containing both the baton and bear spray, and the two girls were arrested soon after. They cannot be named due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Both are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday afternoon, police said.
