The same weekend the new Twister movie made its debut in movie theaters, some people in Regina had a front-row seat to the real thing.

Images of a funnel cloud near the Regina Costco appeared online Sunday afternoon.
Environment Canada is investigating the report, but meteorologist Brad Vroljik says the videos do suggest it was a weak landspout tornado.
“It formed out a very very small storm that popped up. It lasted about 3-minutes before dissipating. We have no reports of any damage or that it impacted anything, “Vroljik said.

“We’ll be definitely following up and checking around today.”
Vroljik said landspouts are a type of tornado that forms during the growth stage of a weak thunderstorm.
