RCMP have now released the name of the victim, Ericson Bear of Red Earth Cree Nation from a hit-and-run back in Febuary.
The RCMP said officers from the Carrot River detachment got a call on Febuary 12, 2024 at around 4:30 a.m. about an injured man on Highway 163 on the Red Earth Cree Nation.
Officers and paramedics found the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. He subsequently was identified as a 31-year-old from that First Nation, which is about 80 kilometres east of Nipawin.
Prince Albert General Investigation Section continues to investigate the death of 31-year-old Ericson Bear of Red Earth Cree Nation. They will be in the Red Earth Cree Nation community this week according to the release.
RCMP are encouraging people with information to contact them or to call Crime Stoppers.
