More details have come to light in an attack on 5th Avenue in Regina from earlier in the summer.
The attack happened just before midnight on the last Friday in June on the 4100 block of 5th Ave near Pasqua St.
At the time, police only said a man had been assaulted with a large bladed weapon, was seriously hurt and taken to hospital.
Now, court documents explain the man was attacked with a machete and describe that his arm was dismembered — the documents weren’t clear as to whether all or part of his arm or hand was cut off.
On Thursday, police announced a 33-year-old man had been arrested in the crime. He was charged with attempted murder and carrying a concealed weapon.
