A pair of armed robbers may be on foot in the Whitewood area, according to the RCMP.
In a statement issued late on Wednesday evening, police said officers are searching for two suspects who are considered armed and dangerous after a robbery with a firearm in the Whitewood area, about 175 kilometres east of Regina. Nobody was injured in the robbery, police said.

While the two alleged robbers were last spotted driving on the old Highway 1 east of Whitewood, the RCMP said they believe they are now travelling on foot.
“One suspect is described as male and may have been wearing a green shirt,” the RCMP said in a statement. “We do not have a description of the other suspect at this time. Both suspects are described as having a slim build.”
The Mounties asked local residents in to report anything suspicious and to ensure homes and vehicles are locked.
“There will continue to be an increased police presence in relation to the ongoing investigation,” the RCMP noted. “We will provide an update when we have more information available. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, we will notify the public.”
