Three people are facing charges after a break-in, pursuit and fight that left a Regina police officer with an injured wrist.
According to police, officers were called to to a home in the 1100 block of Cameron Street at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday for a reported break-in.

“Information received indicated the suspects attempted to enter the residence through a window, before fleeing the scene,” the Regina Police Service explained in a statement. “The victim provided a description of the suspects and their vehicle.”
Officers quickly caught up with the vehicle on Cameron Street and performed a traffic stop, but the driver allegedly jumped out and took off running.
“Despite several commands to stop, the suspect did not comply and swung at the arresting officer. A struggle ensued, leading the officer to sustain a wrist injury,” the police service explained.
“Further investigation was conducted and revealed a loaded firearm in the vehicle.”
A 24-year-old Regina man is now facing charges of assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest and mischief under $5,000, along with gun charges. Two other people, a 41-year-old Regina man and a 33-year-old Regina woman, are also facing gun charges.
All three are set to appear in court in Regina on Thursday afternoon.
