The traffic stop happened on Highway 2 in Air Ronge early in the morning last Friday. According to the RCMP, officers found and seized a conducted energy weapon, a prohibited firearm and bear spray, along with 125 grams of crack cocaine, 14.5 grams of methamphetamine, 11.4 grams of “a substance believed to be a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl,” and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
“Four occupants of the vehicle were then arrested,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Officers arranged for a child under the age of five in the vehicle to be safely picked up by a family member.”
The four adults who were in the vehicle – ages 23, 23, 26 and 36 – are each facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, along with additional charges.
All four appeared in court in La Ronge on Monday, the RCMP said.
