Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) seized a large quantity of drugs and cash after a drug trafficking investigation in the city last week.
SPS said in news release on May 5 that officers from its Crime Reduction Team seized items including $428,795 in cash, 4200 hydromorphone 8 mg tablets (a strong opioid) and 7810.7 grams (about 7.8 kg) of powdered cocaine on May 2.

Two men have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime and various weapons-related offences, police said.
One man, aged 39, was arrested around 6 p.m. at a business in the 2100 block of 8th Street East and police said they found cash, cocaine, and a knife on him. He was also wanted Canadawide for breach of statutory release and several criminal code warrants, they added.
An 18-year-old man was then arrested at a traffic stop near Phelps Way and Tweed Lane in Rosewood around 6:30 p.m. and police said when searching him they also found cash, cocaine and a knife. Two females youths in the vehicle were later released to an adult without charges, SPS said.
Police also searched homes on Stoney Ridge Crescent in the RM of Aberdeen and in the 100 block of Phelps Way, as well as at a business in the 300 block of 103rd Street West.
As well as the drugs and cash, SPS said the searches found two CO2 pellet pistols, a machete, 9mm ammunition and “cellular devices.”
Police look into aggravated assault
A 24-year-old man with multiple stab wounds was taken to hospital after being found in a parking lot in City Park South Saskatoon on Sunday.
SPS said in a news release on May 5 that officers were called to the 300 block of 2nd Avenue North around 4 a.m. and said the man’s injuries were believed to be serious but non-life threatening.
SPS said a short time later a canine unit patrolling a short distance away spotted two other men, aged 18 and 20, both with knife-related injuries and suffering from the effects of bear spray.
Police said the pair were also taken to hospital with “non-life threatening injuries” and the force’s Serious Assault Unit is investigating.
Two arrested after car chase
Two people were charged after a car chase in Confederation Suburban Centre on Sunday.
SPS said in a May 5 news release that officers on patrol near Laurier and Diefenbaker Drive spotted a Dodge Ram around 1 a.m. that was “being driven in a suspicious manner.”
Police attempted to stop the vehicle but it evaded officers and was driven at high speed before stopping after hitting a fence and a parked car in the 600 block of Ells Crescent in Kensington.
The driver and lone passenger were arrested and police said the male driver was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant, while the woman passenger had a can of bear spray and a quantity of methamphetamine. A stolen licence plate was also found inside the vehicle, they added.
As a result the man, aged 29, has been charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, evading police and possession of stolen property.
The woman, aged 19, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and is facing two new weapons-related charges police said.
