A 29-year-old Regina man is facing criminal charges after allegedly leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle on Monday night.
According to police, officers got a report of a recently stolen vehicle on St. John Street at around 11:30 p.m.

“A member of the Regina Police Service Canine Unit spotted the suspect vehicle nearby,” the Regina Police Service said in a statement issued on Wednesday morning.
“The Aerial Support Unit maintained continuous observation as the vehicle was driven dangerously through city streets.”
Police used a deflation device to pop the vehicle’s tires, and the vehicle was found abandoned near Victoria Avenue and Elphinstone Street.
“Patrol officers ordered the driver to stop, but he fled. Officers followed and were able to apprehend and arrest him,” police said.
“The suspect was identified and found to be in breach of existing conditions.”
The 29-year-old man is now facing charges of motor vehicle theft, resisting arrest, dangerous driving, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and failing to comply with an undertaking.
He made his first court appearance on Tuesday, police said.
