Regina residents might notice a brown or yellow tinge in their tap water on Tuesday.
The Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant in Moose Jaw, which supplies the city, is undergoing a 16-hour shutdown on Tuesday. The City of Regina said reservoirs in the city will be at full capacity, but backup water wells may need to be activated in order to to keep the city supplied with water.

If the water wells are turned on, it might affect the colour of the water, but the city said it is still safe to drink.
The City of Moose Jaw said the shutdown at the treatment plant was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, and run until 11 p.m. in order to accommodate ongoing construction at the plant.

“Moose Jaw reservoirs will allow water service to residents to continue uninterrupted,” the City of Moose Jaw said in a statement.
“Water and wastewater staff will continuously monitor reservoir water levels during this planned outage and the City will update residents if there are any changes to this project.”
