Environment and Climate Change Canada has retracted its confirmation of a minor tornado near Maple Creek on Saturday.

Environment Canada initially confirmed the tornado on Sunday at 11:16 a.m. after receiving a report of it and a photo, but retracted that confirmation in an update on June 6.
“Our meteorologists received additional data that contradicted the original report,” Environment Canada said in an emailed statement.
“While a thunderstorm was present in the area at the time, ECCC cannot confirm that a tornado occurred.”
