RCMP officers are searching for two men in connection with a shooting on the Red Earth Cree Nation on Saturday.
According to a statement released by the federal police force on Tuesday, officers were called to a home on the Cree nation at around 5:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. At the scene, police found a male victim who was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

“Investigation determined two suspects entered the residence,” the RCMP statement read.
“A firearm was discharged, injuring the victim. The suspects then fled from the residence.”
Police searched the area with help from an aerial drone and police dogs, but while they recovered a knife and a gun, the two suspects were not found.
After an investigation, police said 38-year-old Gregory Whitehead and 40-year-old Harvey Whitehead, both residents of the Cree nation, were identified as the suspects.
Both men have been charged with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm while prohibited, possession of a loaded, prohibited firearm, use of a firearm in the commission of an offence, and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.
Warrants for their arrests have been issued, and the RCMP asked the public to report any sightings of the two men.
“Gregory Whitehead is described as approximately 5’7” and 165 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoo sleeves on both arms,” the RCMP said.
“Harvey Whitehead is described as approximately 5’6” and 180 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo that says ‘Krazy’ on his right hand, as well as a large scar on his head.”
Anyone who sees the men was advised to stay away and contact the Carrot River RCMP detachment or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
The Red Earth Cree Nation is located about 225 kilometres northeast of Prince Albert.
