Evacuees were coming from the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation and Lac La Ronge Indian Band communities.
Reception centres and shelters are operating in Regina, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert, providing food, emergency supplies, and accommodations. In addition to those spaces, the organization secured more than 1,000 hotel rooms for evacuees.
Mobile outreach services are also operating in the above three cities, alongside those in Lloydminster, North Battleford, and Unity.
The organization’s 2025 Saskatchewan Wildfires Appeal has raised $650,000, but that figure doesn’t include the matching funds sent from the federal government.
