8:30 – Today is the Day of Caring in Saskatchewan. It’s a day to raise funds and support those being impacted by the wildfires in the province. To kick off the day is Minister Tim McLeod, Saskatchewan Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Minister of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety and Minister Responsible for the Firearms Secretariat. He joins Evan to give us the latest update on the wildfire situation in the north.
Listener Question: Do you think the government has done enough to help evacuees?

They’re working long, demanding shifts battling the fires up north and are often far from home and their loved ones. Aaron Buckingham, vice president of the Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association, joins Evan to chat about what crews are dealing with and how the province has stepped up to show support.
LQ: Do you think enough supports are available to firefighters in the north?
9:15 – A firefighter with 31 years of experience is recovering from a collapsed lung after being injured while serving in the fight against the raging Saskatchewan wildfires. Pelican Narrows firefighter, Brady Highway, joins Evan as he recovers from his injury.
9:30 – Pets become a member of the family. But sometimes during an emergency situation, it’s unclear what to do with our furry friends. Chelsie Breeze, chairperson for the Northern Animal Rescue, has been on the front lines, making sure no animal is left behind. She joins Evan to discuss what the rescue is dealing with right now and how to keep your pet safe in an emergency.
9:45 – Evan welcomes Jason Small, Red Cross spokesperson, to the show to share more about their efforts during the wildfires in Saskatchewan.
