Environment Canada advises anyone in the area to take shelter immediately if threatening weather approaches.
“Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris,” Environment Canada said.

Tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes.
Matt Loney, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said the system could produce heavy rain, strong winds and large hail.
“Conditions are favourable for the formation of thunderstorms,” he said. “Certainly, some could become severe.”

Thunderstorm warnings are up for Regina, Ogema and Pangman. It may include three to five centimetres of hail.
The province has seen a slew of funnel clouds and tornado touchdowns in the past week. Loney said conditions are favourable for twisters to form, and if encouraging to continue to check alerts.
“I would say there’s a risk of that happening,” he said. “These storms are quite dynamic.”

Loney said people may want to avoid travel in conditions of heavy rain and high winds.
“The rain rates can be pretty intense,” he said. “The winds can come up very quickly. I would suggest that they take cover where they can, in their homes.”
