Don’t be alarmed if you see heavily armed police officers around the Regina General Hospital on Thursday.
The Regina Police Service said its SWAT team plans to conduct training outside the hospital, starting at 9:30 a.m. The training will see officers rappelling from the building, and the public was warned that they might notice officers on the roof, and numerous police vehicles in the area.

“This training location is a healthcare facility. As such, members of the media and the public are required to refrain from taking pictures and filming this training,” the police service said in a statement.
“The air space above and around the RGH is completely restricted in order to ensure the safety of the operation of the STARS helicopter. Please do not operate drones in or near this area.”
The police force said collaborative training with community partners helps ensure everyone is prepared for a real emergency, and thanked the hospital and Saskatchewan Health Authority for their assistance.
