“Investigation determined a victim was assaulted by a group of individuals, who did not let them leave the residence,” the Mounties said in a statement issued on Wednesday.
“The victim was later able to escape. They were treated at the hospital for injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.”
Six people were arrested in Deschambault Lake on Monday in connection with the alleged assault, the RCMP said. They’re each facing charges of assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, robbery with violence and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Two men – 31-year-old Earl Ballantyne and 19-year-old Tyler Ballantyne – are wanted by police in connection with the alleged attack. They’re facing the same list of charges, along with an additional charge of possession of a firearm without a licence for Earl Ballantyne, and police asked the public to report any sightings of them.
“Earl Ballantyne is described as approximately 5’8” with a medium build. He has black hair and brown eyes,” the RCMP said.
“Tyler Ballantyne sometimes goes by the name “Tyler Michel’. He is described as approximately 6’ and 140 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.”
Both men are known to frequent Deschambault Lake, police said, and they might have headed to Pelican Narrows or Prince Albert, but their current whereabouts are not known.
Anyone who spots them was asked not to approach them, and to report the sighting to the RCMP or make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers.
