A 24-year-old Regina man is facing charges of attempted murder, possession of a prohibited firearm and discharging a firearm with intent after an incident Tuesday on the George Gordon First Nation.
Punnichy RCMP received a report around 8:30 a.m. of an injured woman outside a home on the First Nation, about 110 kilometres northeast of Regina.
In an email to 980 CJME, STARS confirmed it responded to the call and transported the woman, who had suffered a gunshot wound, to Regina General Hospital.

Police said the firearm went off during a confrontation between the man and the woman. The man fled on foot before officers found him in a nearby treed area. Police dog services later located the firearm and ammunition in a rural part of the First Nation.
Xavier Worm of Regina has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a prohibited firearm and discharging a firearm with intent. He appeared in court Aug. 20.
