One man died and another person was injured after a fire at a home on the 4700 block of 4th Avenue early on Sunday morning.
Regina Fire and Protective Services responded to the fire, which broke out on the unit’s main floor.
“A search of the residence resulted in the location of a deceased person,” Regina police said in a statement. Police secured the scene, and an investigation was launched.

The injured person was assessed at the scene by paramedics, the fire department said.
The fire is currently under investigation.
Man’s death deemed non-criminal
In a statement from the Regina Police Service (RPS) and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, the man’s death was “not a criminal matter.”
“The investigation, including an autopsy authorized by the Coroner, has concluded that the death is non-criminal in nature,” police said in a statement.
Officers arrived at the scene at approximately 2:30 a.m. to assist Regina Fire and Protective Services.
“The name of the deceased person will not be released by the Regina Police Service,” it said.
