The City of Regina is looking for public feedback to incorporate into its options and recommendations for creating an encampment strategy.
The city will conduct a public survey and hold focus groups with local service providers. It will also ask for information from people who live and have lived in encampments.

“The City hopes to hear from a wide range of residents including those who provide direct support to people who are houseless, those who have experienced living or working near an encampment and the general public,” read the statement from the city.
The City of Regina currently defines an encampment “as one or more tents or temporary shelters put up in one place,” said the statement.
Right now, when the city is responding to calls about encampments, it considers whether they are located on private or public property, how many tents are observed and whether there is a safety risk.
Residents have until Sept. 29 to provide feedback through this BeHeard survey.
