A 29-year-old man is facing an attempted murder charge after a stabbing early Sunday in Regina’s Regent Park neighbourhood.
Police said officers were called to the 3000 block of First Avenue at around 12:10 a.m. on Sunday for a report of a weapons offence. When officers arrived, police said they found a 31-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his neck.

Officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was then taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Police have not released the suspect’s name.
The Regina Police Service said the investigation into the stabbing is ongoing. Officers have not said whether the victim and suspect knew each other or what may have led to the attack.
The 3000 block of First Avenue runs through the Regent Park area, located in north Regina. Police did not indicate whether the stabbing occurred at a residence or outdoors.
