8:30 – One year since the Saskatchewan election, Evan welcomes Blacklock’s Reporter managing editor, Tom Korski, to the show to discuss the latest in Canadian and Saskatchewan politics.
Listener Question: One year after the Saskatchewan provincial election, do you stand by your vote? Or would you cast a ballot differently at the polls if there was an election now?
9:00 – Open phones – Evan goes to the phones to chat with listeners about what’s on their minds today. Call 1-877-332-8255.
10:00 – The former Bill C-321, which has since found new life in Bill S-233 — An Act to amend the Criminal Code (assault against persons who provide health services and first responders) — was very quickly passed over the past few days in the Senate. Now before the House of Commons, Paul Hills, with the Saskatoon Paramedic Association, joins Evan to discuss the importance of this bill for protecting workers on the front lines across Canada.
LQ: Do you support a bill like this passing in the House of Commons?
10:15 – The autumn season is bringing peak wildlife activity in the province and that can also mean a higher risk of collisions on the road. Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) data shows that Saskatchewan had more than 9,000 collisions last year related to wildlife. Evan discusses this with the new incoming executive director of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, Todd Smith.
10:30 – Major strides have been made in recent months when it comes to Huntington’s Disease and its treatment. Evan welcomes Alexander Maxan, director of research and strategic partnerships for the Huntington Society of Canada, to share more about the recent strides in Huntington’s Disease research in Canada, and Trina Klein, a Saskatchewan woman with Huntington’s Disease in her family, to hear about how this disease impacts people in our province and what treatment options on the horizon could mean for them.
LQ: Does new research provide you with any hope for the treatment of fatal diseases like Huntington’s disease?
11:00 – It’s time to check in once again with our financial expert, Robert Davis, vice president of treasury with Conexus. He joins Evan to take your calls and questions heading into the winter season.
LQ: Have a question about finances, personal or otherwise? Robert Davis is here to take your calls!
12:00 – A Regina-based artist, Zachari Logan, is West Baffin Co-operative’s 2025 Artist-in-Residence and presently living on Baffin Island while working on his latest projects. He is one of several notable artists, now, who have spent time in Nunavut, and joins Evan to share more about the opportunities awaiting him through this experience.
LQ: Where would you like to work from, if you had the opportunity to go somewhere that would inspire you?
