Two correctional centre inmates in Alberta are facing charges of second-degree murder in connection with the 2023 death of Kenneth Fiddler, a 23-year-old resident of Meadow Lake.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers responded to a report of a shooting at a Meadow Lake business at around 5:40 a.m. on July 18, 2023. Fiddler was injured in the shooting and later died in hospital, the Mounties said.

Since Fiddler’s death, the case has been under investigation by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, and on Wednesday the RCMP said investigators arrested the two men at a correctional centre in Alberta.
The 31-year-old man and 39-year-old man have each been charged with murder, and while they remain in custody, the RCMP noted that their first court appearances have not yet been scheduled.
