Chris Fahlman of Regina is now facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the September 12 shooting death of 44-year-old Tanya Myers of Weyburn on Highway 39 outside of Weyburn.
Fahlman, 42, has been remanded in custody since his arrest on November 1. He appeared in Regina Provincial Court on the new charge on Wednesday. He’s also facing an additional charge of intentionally discharging a firearm while being reckless as to the life or safety of another person.

Fahlman’s previous charges, which included manslaughter with a firearm, careless use of a firearm, carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence and occupying a motor vehicle knowing there is a firearm inside, have been stayed.
Two more Regina Provincial Court appearances are scheduled for this week. Fahlman will be appearing on Thursday at 2 p.m., with a show cause hearing slated for 9 a.m. on Friday to determine if he will receive bail.
