The man accused in the shooting death of Tanya Myers is scheduled to appear at the Court of King’s Bench in Weyburn for a bail hearing on Wednesday morning.
Chris Fahlman, 42, is facing a charge of second-degree murder. Fahlman was originally charged with manslaughter when he was arrested on November 1, but the charge was upgraded by the Crown last week.

He also faces charges of careless use of a firearm, carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence and occupying a motor vehicle knowing there is a firearm inside.
Fahlman has been in custody since his arrest. His bail hearing, which has been subject to scheduling delays over the past 10 days, is now proceeding at the Court of King’s Bench rather than Provincial Court due to the nature of the charges.
The charges stem from a September 12 incident on Highway 39 near Weyburn. Myers, 44, was fatally shot while riding as a passenger in an SUV.
Police confirmed a second vehicle travelling nearby was also struck by gunfire during the same incident.
