A 71-year-old man from Maple Creek and an 83-year-old man from Saskatoon were killed in separate crashes on Monday.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, the first crash happened at the intersection of two grid roads in the RM of Reno, which is located in the southwestern corner of the province.

“Investigation determined two pick-up trucks collided in the intersection,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“The driver of one of the trucks was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 71-year-old from Maple Creek. His family has been notified. A passenger in this truck was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.”
The driver of the other truck, meanwhile, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the Mounties noted.
The RCMP said the second crash happened at around noon on Highway 41, about 10 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
“Investigation determined a car and semi collided,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“The sole occupant of the car was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as an 83-year-old male from Saskatoon. His family has been notified.”
Highway 41 was closed temporarily after the crash, but the route has since reopened, the RCMP noted.
The Mounties said both crashes remain under investigation, with help from a police collision reconstruction expert.
