An Alberta man faces charges in relation to a drug-trafficking investigation in Lloydminster, following a search warrant in a home and vehicle last month.
According the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers who searched a home and vehicle in the city on Nov. 26 found and seized about 320 grams of cocaine, approximately 500 grams of methamphetamine, a handgun, ammunition, a conducted-energy weapon, drug trafficking paraphernalia and some cash.

A 31-year-old man from Elk Point, Alta. was charged with:
- one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine;
- one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine;
- three counts of careless use of a firearm;
- three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm;
- one count of possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized;
- one count of possession of restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition without a licence/registration;
- three counts of weapons possession contrary to order;
- three counts of failing to comply with release order condition;
- one count of operation while prohibited; and
- one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
He made his first appearance in Vegreville Provincial Court on Monday, the RCMP said.
That same day, the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Crime Reduction Team executed a search warrant at another residence in the city. Police arrested a man at the scene, but he was later released without charges.
