A man was charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault on Little Pine First Nation on Monday.
On Dec. 8, 2025, at about 8 p.m., Cut Knife RCMP said it received a report of injured individuals at a home on Little Pine First Nation.

Cut Knife RCMP officers responded immediately and they found two injured individuals. More officers from Cut Knife and Unity RCMP were also called to the scene.
Police officers said they performed first aid on the two injured people. A 43-year-old Little Pine First Nation man was declared dead by paramedics at the house. Police said his family has been notified.
The other adult was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, according to the police statement.
A 24-year-old Little Pine First Nation man was charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault. He made an appearance at North Battleford Provincial Court on Wednesday.
