The Saskatchewan RCMP is asking the public for information about the death of a 59-year-old man on the Moosomin First Nation.
According to the RCMP, officers got a report of a man in need of medical attention at a home on the First Nation north of the Battlefords at around noon on Monday.

Police said officers found the injured man and provided first aid, but he was later pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
“He has been identified as 59-year-old Arnold Thomas from Saulteaux First Nation,” the RCMP said in a statement. “His family has been notified.”
Thomas’ death was deemed suspicious, and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took charge of the investigation.
“We are unable to provide additional information about this investigation at this time,” the RCMP noted. “Updates will be provided when available. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, we will notify the public.”
The RCMP asked the public to come forward with any information about Thomas’ death. The Mounties also asked anyone who was in contact with Thomas between Thursday and Monday to “contact police immediately.”
