Officers located the vehicle and, following an investigation, searched it. Inside, they found approximately 2.1 kilograms of methamphetamine, ammunition and more than $87,000 in cash.
A 43-year-old man from Strathmore, Alta was arrested at the scene and has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of weapons contrary to an order.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 20, 2026.
Kindersley RCMP say the investigation remains ongoing.
“We won’t tolerate those who choose to introduce dangerous goods, like illicit drugs, into our community,” said Staff Sgt. Sebastian Andrews, detachment commander.
“That’s why we are out actively patrolling, and why we follow up on reports of suspicious activity. Through dedication and hard work, Kindersley RCMP stopped more than 20,000 ‘doses’ of methamphetamine from circulating through our detachment area.”
