With 2026 right around the corner, the City of Regina is adjusting some of its services on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Civic offices and the city landfill will be closed on Jan. 1, but the landfill will be open on New Year’s Eve from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Some transit changes will be in effect as the city rings in 2026, giving some extra options for revellers to get home safely. Regular routes and schedules will apply on Dec. 31, but service will be extended until 2:15 a.m. on Jan. 1, and fares will not be collected after 7 p.m. RIDELine will be operating from 7 p.m. to 2:15 a.m. No transit service will be available after 2:15 a.m. on Jan. 1, with both RIDELine and the information centre closed.
Paratransit will operate on its holiday schedule from 6 a.m. on Dec. 31 until 2 a.m. on Jan. 1, and paratransit will continue using its holiday schedule on New Year’s Day.
Parking meters will not be in effect on New Year’s Day, but leisure centres will be open for anyone who wants to get a jump-start on their fitness resolutions.
Waste collection will proceed as usual on Jan. 1.
The North West Leisure Centre and Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre will be open from noon until 6 p.m. on Jan. 1, and the Fieldhouse and Lawson Aquatic Centre will be open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Gates at the Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery and Regina Cemetery will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day, though the office will be closed to the public.
