“Meyers is coming off a breakout 2025 season with the Roughriders, catching 65 receptions for 1,056 yards and eight touchdowns,” the CFL club said in a statement.
“The speedy receiver posted a 16.2 average yards per catch and had four games with more than 100 yards receiving, including going six four six for 156 yards and a touchdown (26.3 yards per catch) in Week 18 against Ottawa.”
The 25-year-old from Brooklyn caught a 21-yard pass to set up a touchdown by Tommy Nield in the 2025 Western Final, the Riders noted, and followed that big moment by hauling in four passes for 76 yards in the Grey Cup, helping the Riders secure the championship for the first time since 2013.
But while one wide receiver is departing, another is getting ready to join the team.
On Thursday, the Riders announced the signing of Ali Jennings III, who spent the past two seasons playing at Virginia Tech.
In his 14 games with Virginia, Jennings III hauled in 20 passes for 444 yards and five touchdowns, and accepted an invitation to the Green Bay Packers’ rookie minicamp.
“Jennings transferred to Virginia Tech from Old Dominion, where he was a standout over his two seasons played. The Virginia native played and started in all 21 games, breaking out from the pack in his first season, recording 1,066 yards on 62 receptions alongside five touchdowns – one of the best seasons by a wide receiver in school history,” the Roughriders said in a statement.
“He followed it up with 54 receptions on 959 yards and a Sunbelt-leading nine touchdowns in 2022. He averaged over 17 yards per reception in both seasons as a Monarch and received All-Sun Belt First Team accolades in 2022.”
Before he was at Old Dominion, Jennings played 19 games at West Virginia where he caught 26 passes for 240 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
