One person has been taken to hospital with “undetermined injuries” after a house fire in Saskatoon on Monday evening.
According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, firefighters were called to the scene of the blaze on Whelan Lane, in the city’s Confederation Park neighbourhood, just before 9 p.m., and saw heavy smoke coming from the home when they arrived.

Firefighters extended a hose to the basement to extinguish the flames, then set up fans to ventilate the smoke. A search confirmed that all the occupants were out of the house.
“A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate,” the fire department noted in a statement.
