A man on the run from Mounties after being named as a suspect in a gun-related assault has been arrested in Prince Albert.
The man, who was wanted in relation to an incident on Jan. 7, was arrested after police received a tip on Thursday that he was at a home in the 500 block of 23rd Street East, RCMP said in a news release on Jan 23.

The man is facing a number of charges including two counts of assault, pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, discharging a firearm while being reckless, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, and negligence causing bodily harm.
Members of the Crime Reduction Team, along with members of the Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Proactive Policing Unit, Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team, and crisis negotiators were used to arrest the man without incident.
A search of the home found crossbow, multiple CO2 style firearms, ammunition, multiple firearm accessories, bullet-proof vest, and a machete, RCMP said.
Police said that the incident on Jan. 7 in the Rural Municipality of Buckland involved two men and a woman who were in a vehicle when a fight began. One man and the woman were taken into a forested area and had a gun pointed at them, RCMP said.
The gun was fired but no one was injured, police added, and the pair then ran further into the bush to get away but got lost.
Police said a drone was used to find the lost pair, and found the man. Drone operators then used the light on the drone to help him find his way out of the forest. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, RCMP said.
A police dog was called in to help track the woman, and they later found her in a remote area of the RM of Prince Albert, police said. Officers used snowmobiles to rescue her, and she was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man charged is scheduled to appear on Monday in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
