A staple event on the Saskatoon fundraising calendar will not be returning in 2026.
The Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon has announced they’re hitting pause on the Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Dinner this winter for the first time since being established in 1959.

According to a statement posted on their website they’re “stepping back for a year to make sure what comes next is thoughtful, sustainable, and feels right.”

The Kinsmen Club also adding the plan is for a re-imagined event to return when the timing allows.
Usually held either at the end of January or early February at TCU Place, the Sports Celebrity Dinner raises funds through a meal plus live and silent auctions toward Kinsmen Club programming.
Celebrity guests have included Maurice Richard, Mario Lemieux, Guy Lafleur, Joe Montana, Brett Hull, Chris Pronger, Curtis Joseph, Darryl Sittler, Wendel Clark, Jose Bautista, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Edwin Encarnacion.
Previous editions of the Sports Celebrity Dinner have been capped at 1,100 guests according to the Kinsmen Club.
