In a brief update on Team Canada’s website, it said McMorris had a “heavy crash.”
The 32-year-old product of Regina, Sask., was set to make his fourth appearance at the Olympics and was getting ready for Thursday’s qualifying event, which was set to take place before the opening ceremony.
“(The) Canadian Olympic Committee and Canada Snowboard staff are attending to him,” Team Canada said in a statement.
It will provide more information when it becomes available.
The Associated Press is reporting officials from the Canadian snowboard team did not respond to requests from them asking about his condition.
McMorris had recently won gold at the 2026 X Games in Aspen.
More to come.
