The Saskatchewan RCMP has identified the woman whose body was found inside a burned truck at a Prince Albert business this month.
According to the Mounties, the death of 39-year-old Stacey Badger, a resident of the Mistawasis First Nation, is considered suspicious and is being examined by the RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit.

The RCMP said the case began on Feb. 4, when officers received a report about a stolen truck in a field about 40 kilometres east of the city, just off Highway 302.
“Investigation determined that the truck was previously reported as stolen to Prince Albert RCMP on January 29. The vehicle was towed to a business on 41st Street East in Prince Albert,” the Mounties explained in a statement.
“On February 7, Prince Albert RCMP received a report that Prince Albert Police Service responded to a fire at the same business on 41st Street East. Multiple vehicles at the business were on fire, including the truck that was towed there on February 4. The fire was extinguished by the Prince Albert Fire Department and determined to be suspicious in nature.”
On Feb. 9, the RCMP was alerted that Prince Albert police officers had discovered Badger’s remains inside the burned truck, the same vehicle that had been towed there on Feb. 4.
Police said the homicide unit has checked neighbourhoods for witnesses and video captured by security and doorbell cameras, but the RCMP is now asking the public for help as well.
“If you have information about this incident, or if you witnessed suspicious activity in the area of 41st Street East in Prince Albert between the evening of February 6 and the morning of February 7, please report it to police immediately,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Investigators also ask anyone who had recent contact with Stacey Badger to please contact police.”
