A scammer saying they are from the Saskatchewan Fine Collection Branch is sending bogus provincial violation tickets by email to people in Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan RCMP said in a Feb. 13 news release they had received a number of reports of people targeted by the scam.

Police said the fraudulent tickets include a ticket number, an amount to pay and the due date as well as payment instructions, a link to unsubscribe from emails, contact information, and “Provincial Court Services” copyright.
Mounties said the contact information is accurate for fine collections but the ticket information and payment link are fraudulent.
People should not click the link or send payment, RCMP said.
Police said people could protect themselves from email scams by checking the sender email for misspellings or unusual email addresses, and not clicking on links from senders you don’t know. People should also look for red flags, including the use of urgent language or generic greetings.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Saskatchewan RCMP at 310-RCMP, their local police service or to inform Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at saskcrimestoppers.com.
The Mounties also said people should report emails like this to local police and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, which collects information on fraud and identity theft and provides information on past and current scams affecting Canadians, says that as of Sept. 30, 2025 it had recorded 23,113 fraud victims across the country with reported losses of $444 million.
