“Bags with instructions on the new process will be placed over all existing meters to prevent coin payment,” the city said in a statement.
“Payment is still required when a meter is covered, and current parking rules remain in effect, including posted time limits and other parking regulations.”

The city said the change “supports a shift toward more effecient, digital service options.” (City of Regina/Submitted)
Payment can be made using the PayByPhone app, the city said, through the PayByPhone website, or by calling 1-888-680-7275.
“Payments can be made using major credit and debit cards, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal,” the city added.
The change was approved during Regina’s most recent round of budget deliberations, and the city said the change “supports a shift toward more efficient, digital service options.” That budget included a 10.9 per cent property tax hike.
