A two-vehicle crash on the weekend led to the deaths of a man and a woman from Melville, Sask.
On Sat, March 7, White Butte RCMP learned about the crash around 8:15 a.m.
Two vehicles – a pick-up truck and a car – collided on the eastbound lanes of Highway 1, near McLean and Balgonie.

According to a release from Saskatchewan RCMP, officers responded immediately to the scene, alongside local fire and paramedics.
Both passengers of the car were declared dead at the scene, a 39-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man. RCMP said their families have been notified.
“Initial investigation suggests the car was travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 1,” RCMP included in the release. “This and other potential factors in the collision will be confirmed as part of the ongoing investigation.”
The truck driver and passenger were both transported with non-life threatening injuries to hospital – the driver by STARS Air Ambulance and the passenger by EMS.
White Butte RCMP and a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist are still investigating the incident.
