Sarah Mills: A year of Prime Minister Mark Carney resulted in mix success

Mark Carney became prime minister twelve months ago, and while there has been a trade deal that will benefit Saskatchewan, Sarah Mills says he hasn’t yet achieved what he set out to do for Canadians.

Mon., March 16: Sarah Mills says the recent visit by Treaty Six chiefs to Buckingham Palace has only served to highlight the deep connection First Nations have with the monarchy and the treaties first signed with them.

Fri., March 13: If SGI has the power to levy heavy fines and municipalities have authority to get money back, we should be doing so and quickly. Let’s send a message such mistakes are not okay.

Thurs., March 12: NDP MP Lori Idlout crossing to the Liberals isn’t for the betterment of her constituents, it is self-serving, which floor crossing usually is. The only choice should be for them to let voters decide.

Wed., March 11: While it is expected the Liberals will take the two Toronto and one Montreal riding next month, it doesn’t change the fact the west feels alienated, separation talk continues and we aren’t yet a United Canada. All issues the Prime Minister will face with or without a majority.

Tues., March 10: The Saskatchewan government announced a Patient First Health Care plan that increase virtual care, adds beds and more nurse practitioner numbers. But to have success it will take money and time to build capacity when patients and workers want change now.
