While Prince Albert faces yet another round of snow that is reducing visibility to the west and north of the city, the situation is worse in the Nipawin area and on the highways around Lloydminster.
Updates from Saskatchewan Highway Hotline recommended not travelling in the Lloydminster area, including Highway 16 from Maidstone to Marshall, Highway 17 between the Junction with Highway 40 and the Lone Rock Access and Highway 21. Travel was also not recommended on Highway 17 between Onion Lake and Lloydminster.

Roads are covered with anything from snow drifts to slush and ice. West of Prince Albert, drivers will see reduced visibility, slush, heavy and swirling snow.
Impacted highways include Highway 2 between Highways 263 and 916, the junction of Highway 2 to Prince Albert National Park, Highway 264, Highway 953 and Highway 791 between Paddockwood and Northside.
Travel is not recommended in these areas due to the heavy snow and drifts.
A similar advisory was issued for the Nipawin region.
Meanwhile, a snowfall warning has been issued for the eastern half of central Saskatchewan with 15 to 20 centimetres expected. Cumberland House will see the heaviest accumulation of snow.
Around Prince Albert and extending to the Battlefords area, the snow is expected to end soon, but residents could still see some freezing drizzle and a chance of flurries on Thursday and Friday before it warms up to 6 C on Sunday. By Tuesday, temperatures could hit 16 C.
Eight inches of snow in some parts of rural Sask.
Some parts of Saskatchewan have reported receiving more than 30 centimetres – around eight inches – of snow already on Wednesday.
The District of Lakeland shared in a Facebook post that its area is experiencing a “significant snow event.”
As of early Wednesday morning, the area had received about seven-and-a-half inches of snow, which continued falling throughout the day.
The post reported several vehicles stuck on roadways, hindering snow clearing, and asked residents to avoid unnecessary travel.
