With changes coming to the CFL playoffs, Jamie Nye had a lot of thoughts surrounding it on The Blitz: The Podcast.
The league announced that eight of its nine teams will qualify for an extended postseason beginning in 2027. This is expected to provide more revenue for the league, but there are concerns about it reducing the importance of the regular season.

This led to a lot of reaction from fans on The Green Zone about the latest announcement from CFL Commissioner Stewart Johnston.
Another change is the CFL will begin its regular season earlier that year and into the future, with Victoria Day weekend being targeted as the start date for the 2027 season.
Before all those changes come into effect, there is still a 2026 season to be held as the league held its annual CFL Canadian Draft and Global Draft this week.
Nye and Britton Gray broke down the recent announcements and gave their thoughts on where the league is heading. They also discussed who the Saskatchewan Roughriders selected with their picks and how they could fit into the team’s plans.
